On a recent sunny Saturday, I photographed these people inside the Main Streets Café, and outside on the sidewalk. For me, these candid portraits are also character studies. The old woman in the triptych was not cursing me; the war memorial before us led her to recount the horrors of her childhood in wartime Europe.
